Relational Theology, Science & Religion, Pantheism & Panentheism

Lina Langby, Ph.D. in Philosophy of Religion

My research focuses on conceptions of God, the connection between language and reality, and how conceptions of God relate to worshipworthiness. I also have a feminist theoretical perspective, focusing especially on the power of language and speech, making research on how to describe God particularly important. Conceptions of God that I have researched particularly are panentheism, process theism, pantheism, open theism, and classical theism. I also have a research interest in science and religion, environmental theology, and relational theology. Together with my colleague and husband Martin Langby, I have explored the role of the Holy Spirit as God’s loving and relational power.
